The Royal College of Ophthalmologists has published their annual report on Cataract Surgery outcomes, providing invaluable information to support patients in their choice of treatment centre.

The report includes data from 183,812 cataract operations carried out in NHS Cataract Surgical Centres in England and Wales in 2016/17, with the majority of data captured using Medisoft’s Electronic Medical Records system. The system was designed by ophthalmologists to enable paperless working and the rapid audit of clinical outcomes.

The report shows a 30% reduction in the unadjusted Posterior Capsule Rupture (PCR) rate from 2.0% in 2010 to 1.4% in 2016-2017, equating to around 2,500 fewer complications per year suffered during this surgery.

Derby Teaching Hospitals choose Medisoft to improve their cataract service!

Medisoft extends its presence across Dublin.

Mater Misericordiae University Hospital have chosen MediSIGHT to digitise their ophthalmic pathways.

The system will be configured to share care records with the hospital PAS enabling the coordination of care with the neighboroughing Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital - already a Medisoft customer.
