Diabetic Retinopathy

Discover mediSIGHT’s Diabetic Retinopathy Module. Designed to enhance patient care and streamline diagnostic processes.

Activating the Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) Module in mediSIGHT enables several features. The most powerful of these is the Diabetic Retinopathy Grading Form. This allows you to easily carry out the structured grading of a patient’s retina and macula.

Using the form, you can:

  • Automatically calculate a grade based on clinical findings.
  • Automatically populate findings and diagnoses in the patient record on completing the grading form.
  • Pull through the patient’s previous grade from their last visit, removing the need to complete the grading from scratch each time.
  • Utilise NHS DES, ETDRS and International grading schemes.
  • Multiple grading schemes can be used in conjunction, saving time completing the form once with multiple grades output.
  • Default grading scheme(s) can be configured for all clinicians.
  • Grading schemes can be changed by an individual clinician ad-hoc when they are using the form, for example if they need to complete a more detailed grading than usual in certain cases.
  • Record “Ungradable” and “Not graded” per eye and per section in case grading is not possible or limited.

Benefits:

  • DR pathway to manage patient care
  • DR Grading Calculator assured as CE/UKCA marked medical device
  • Feature-based grading proven to result in more accurate outputs
  • DR Assessment form can be used as an educational tool for juniors
  • Rapid population of grades and diagnoses, particularly at follow up visits
  • Compliance with NHS DESP dataset and terminology
  • DR specific letters and letter content output
  • Default creation of Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (DESP) letters, improving patient safety and failsafe
  • Interface with the DESP OptoMize software to seamlessly share data bidirectionally with the DESP, automating aspects of patient failsafe and preventing manual transcription of data for a large population of patients
  • Detailed laser procedure forms, surgeon defaults and surgical diagrams
  • Virtual review workflow – remotely assess patients’ imaging and tests
  • Import of OCT macular reports from common devices, and in some cases, ETDRS grid thickness and volume data
