Medisoft welcome two further prestigious Trusts to the mediSIGHT family.
Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust have both separately agreed to implement the UK's leading ophthalmic EMR in their eye care services. Medisoft will start work with their clinical and IT teams to roll out mediSIGHT during 2021 in order to support their paperless agendas and deliver myriad clinical benefits.
University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust have agreed a long term contract to use mediSIGHT in 5 hospitals providing ophthalmic care. The Trust, which is a new organisation following the merger or Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, will use the system in their main subspecialty departments and connect it to imaging systems such as Heidelberg Eye Explorer.
Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust are the latest Trust to successfully migrate to mediSIGHT. Within the Trust, St Paul's Eye Unit provide a world renowned ophthalmic service not only to the community of Liverpool, but to regional, national and international referrals. Long term users of Medisoft Ophthalmology, RLBUHT's upgrade to mediSIGHT has not only released many more beneficial features but has also meant that all historically recorded data has been retained, enabling ongoing research and clinical trials.
Following a recent procurement process, Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust has selected mediSIGHT as it's ophthalmic Electronic Medical Records system. The newly formed Trust (following a merger) runs three major hospitals across Essex and extends the use of Medisoft products to community optometrists for the care of stable and follow up patients.

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust will begin implementing the world's most advanced ophthalmology EMR later this year as they seek to reap the many benefits of digital working.
Slightly further afield, George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust have also commited to using mediSIGHT.
James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust selects mediSIGHT as their ophthalmic EMR. Having trialled the cataract module during the National Cataract Audit, the Trust has realised many of the benefits of electronic working and capture of structured data. As such they have now ordered the system for all subspecialties in ophthalmology.
The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) has published their annual report on Cataract Surgery outcomes which evidence clear improvements in care including a 38% reduction in posterior capsular rupture complications. The collaboration between Medisoft and RCOphth has been key to this audit - see below for more.
