Medisoft's Leadership Team

Medisoft's experienced leadership ensure that its products and services are relevant and the business remains successful and profitable.

Christian Martin, Managing Director

With a degree in Law from Cambridge University and a strong technical background, Christian has overall responsibility for Medisoft's operations and business development. Prior to joining the company in 2011, he was Chief Technology Officer for the NHS National Screening Programmes, and helped to design and launch the NHS Diabetic Screening Programme.

Christian has managed the company through a period of rapid growth, and is overseeing the redevelopment of Medisoft's product suite to ensure that it takes advantage of the best available technologies and meets the needs of a global market.

David Johnston, Chairman

David has a degree in Genetics and worked in the pharmaceutical industry for five years before founding Medisoft with his brother Rob in 1997. David led Medisoft's growth from a standing start to a sustainable and profitable business.

As Chairman of Medisoft's board, David provides strategic leadership whilst managing the Development and Design teams. His vision for 'mediSIGHT' to be by-far the world's best and most widely-used ophthalmology EMR, helping to improve the care of patients with ocular diseases and abnormalities throughout the world.

Nick Dodds, Operations Director

Nick graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in Law before embarking on a career in technology. This includes a lengthy period in the Telecoms sector at Plusnet before entering Healthcare IT with Primary Care systems provider, EMIS Health. As Operations Director, Nick was responsible for transforming a broad range of functions including Support, Training and Development.

At Medisoft, Nick is responsible for the day to day operations of the business including Support, Implementation, Deployment and Training. Additionally Nick is leading the business and customers through the significant programme of upgrades from Medisoft Ophthalmology to mediSIGHT.

Nick Kirby, Director of Data Services

Nick has a degree in Business Systems and IT and over 15 years’ experience working in the fields of Business Intelligence and Data Analysis. Since joining the company in 2013 Nick has transformed the way in which data is extracted, reported and presented across systems, ensuring Medisoft’s reporting capability is almost unique in the health software industry.

Appointed to Director of Data Services in 2018, Nick continues to oversee the development of Medisoft’s Business Intelligence platform, as well as having day-to-day responsibility for securing and delivering real world evidence based data research projects.
