Medisoft wins Medical Futures Innovation Awards 2008
Medisoft have won the overall award in ophthalmology at this year's prestigious Medical Futures Innovation Awards.
Medisoft, leading ophthalmology health care experts, won the award with their Electronic Medical Record (EMR) computer system. This innovative computer system brings together all the clinical information about a patient's ophthalmic medical treatment and history, including diagnostic tests, digital imaging and surgical outcomes.
| Medisoft set up the system to overcome the frustration ophthalmology staff were facing of not being able to audit the outcomes of operations using paper-based notes. The system was set up to capture all of the required information around surgery, outpatient appointment and to improve the working life of doctors and most importantly patient health care. | ![]() |

Dr Robert Johnston, Consultant Ophthalmologist, Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Medical Director for Medisoft Limited said:
"We at Medisoft are delighted to have won such an industry recognised award; it is a real accolade for all the hard work the team has put in creating the system.
"We hope to continue to grow Medisoft's success by collaborating with the NHS in their 'Connecting for Health' campaign, by implementing our EMR system in all NHS eye hospitals."
