Medisoft interface with Screening Software

Medisoft and the leading suppliers of software to UK Diabetic Retinal Screening Services (DRSS) are working in collaboration to develop interfaces that will allow the two-way transfer of patient and outcome data between their respective systems.

This bi-directional exchange of information will allow the screening software to send information to Medisoft about every patient on patients referred to hospital ophthalmology for sight threatening diabetic retinopathy. Medisoft will return the dataset defined in the Connecting for Health Diabetic Eye Disease dataset to allow automatic creation of the annual return on diabetic retinopathy.

The interface therefore ensures screening programmes can retrieve vital data from ophthalmology departments including: interval from screening to clinic for each grade of retinopathy; interval from clinic to laser, DNAs etc. This will modernise failsafe, greatly reducing the time spent sifting through letters and manually entering outcome data to track patients’ progress in ophthalmology.

OptoMize

Medisoft Connector, our interface with Digital Healthcare’s Optomize systematic screening software will be piloted summer 2010.

Orion DRSS

An interface is currently being developed between CIS Healthcare’s Orion DRSS screening software and Medisoft Ophthalmology.
