The Visual Acuity and AMD summary chart

The Visual Acuity and AMD summary chart provides a fast, efficient way of visualising how a patient’s condition has improved/deteriorated over time with different treatments.

You can choose to view the chart of either the Right eye or the Left eye by clicking on the relevant tab.

It is possible to zoom in on any portion of the chart to see to more clearly and in greater detail. To scroll along the chart to see the patient’s full history, click on the red arrows at the bottom of the chart. Hovering over any symbol with the mouse cursor will show the exact value/measurement/meaning of that symbol Icons are displayed on the left hand side of the screen, of which summarise important aspects of the patient history.
 

Top of the Chart

Re-treatment Criteria: A red circle is present when a particular re-treatment criteria has occurred, a green circle if it has not.

OCT: Represented by a green circle with yellow in the centre, located on the very top line of the chart. Clicking one of these symbols will open the OCT Device episode that corresponds to that date.
 

Middle of the Chart

Adverse Events are shown as either a red circle indicating the presence of an adverse event (e.g. ‘fluid worse on OCT since last visit’) or as a green circle indicating the absence of an adverse event.

Drug treatments are illustrated thin horizontal coloured bars with the name of the drug on them. The length of the bar corresponds to the amount of time the patient was treated with the drug for.

Intravitreal Injections: these are represented by an ‘IVI’ box with a black arrow in a blue box below it. The red upside down triangle somewhere directly below this arrow aligns with the type of drug injected – as positioned on the y-axis (e.g. Lucentis).
 

Bottom of the Chart

Visual Acuity is shown as a series of blue triangles, with a line drawn through them to show change over time.

OCT CRT (microns) CFT: OCT/CRT is shown by a series of pink circles with a line drawn through them to show change over time. OCT/CFT is shown by a series of brown circles with a line drawn through them to show change over time.
